JT SEALS THE DEAL

SWEDISH Champion Jacob Thorssell is on his way back to Wolverhampton.

And unlike last season he will start with a clean bill of health - he sat out the first few weeks through injury in 2019.

He went on to win his national title and also won a place in the Grand Prix in Malilla as a wildcard.

Now he's back in a familiar looking Parrys International Wolves side looking to challenge for another Premiership play-off place.

Club promoter Chris Van Straaten is pleased to have his man to race alongside new signing Broc Nicol and Nick Morris, Rory Schlein and Ryan Douglas.

He said: "Jacob is an essential part of Wolverhampton Speedway.

"He's 26-years-of-age and next year will be the ninth straight season he's been a part of our team.

"That shows the faith we have him and it shows Jacob's loyalty to the club as well as to British Speedway.

"He's had a few injuries the last couple of years - the biggest of which came in the 2017 semi-final against Belle Vue in the year we narrowly missed out on the title to Swindon.

"Prior to that he was a solid eight-and-half average plus rider and we need to get him back to that mark.

"We've spoken about ways we feel he can get back towards that sort of figure and we're delighted to have him back at Monmore Green for another season."
