WOLVERHAMPTON recovered from a six point deficit to fight back and beat league leaders Belle Vue 47-43 in a last heat decider at Monmore Green.
The Parrys International Wolves dug deep to find four advantages in the final five races as they kept their proud 100 per cent home record in tact.
The hosts took the lead in an eventful Heat Two when Zach Cook and Leon Flint combined for a 5-1 over their reserve counterparts before the visitors claimed the next three races.
Steve Worrall then picked up his first win of the night as he led a 4-2 with skipper Sam Masters before the Aces drew level when Rory Schlein and Cook were on the wrong end of a 5-1 in Heat Seven.
Worrall made it back-to-back successes in the eighth and with Flint getting the better of fellow Rising Star Connor Bailey, Wolves were back ahead by two.
But the visitors made it two 5-1s in three races to take the lead for the first time in Heat Nine - before adding another maximum in the tenth to open up that six point gap.
But there was high drama in Heat 11 when Belle Vue No.1 Dan Bewley lost control on bend three and collected Cook. The Aussie crashed into the home straight fence - but thankfully, he walked away from the incident relatively unscathed with a 5-1 awarded in Wolves' favour and Bewley pulling out of the closing stages.
Ryan Douglas spun out of Heat 12 as Belle Vue took a 4-2 to lead 38-34.
But Wolves were level when Masters and Schlein left their opponents standing at the start of Heat 13.
Douglas picked himself up to take the chequered flag in Heat 14 - and mechanical problems for Charles Wright saw Cook claim third to put the Wolves back ahead going into Heat 15.
Further drama followed when Belle Vue's Jaimon Lidsey exceeded the two minutes time allowance having suffered a problem with his chain on the start line.
And when the race did eventually get underway, captain Masters stepped up to the plate to gate to victory whilst Schlein worked his way past replacement Tom Brennan on the final lap as the Wolves took another step towards play-off qualification.
With fifth placed Ipswich also failing to add to their tally from their defeat at Sheffield, it means the Parrys International Wolves are now seven points clear of the Witches as they strengthened their grip on a top four finish. Wolves are back at Monmore Green next Monday (July 17, 7.30) when they host Peterborough.
WOLVERHAMPTON 47: Sam Masters 9+1, Rory Schlein 9+1, Steve Worrall 8+1, Ryan Douglas 8, Leon Flint 7+1, Zach Cook 6+1, Luke Becker r/r. BELLE VUE 43: Brady Kurtz 10+1, Jaimon Lidsey 10, Tom Brennan 9, Charles Wright 5+2, Dan Bewley 5, Norick Blodorn 4+1, Connor Bailey 0. Belle Vue win the aggregate point
