WOLVERHAMPTON are delighted that stadium landlords Ladbrokes have thrown their backing behind the club’s season opener this month.

The 2020 action gets underway in WV2 on Monday, March 30 (7.30) with the Ladbrokes Monmore Open – an individual event which will also include four GB Youth races including new mascot Luke Harrison.

Parrys International Wolves promoter Chris Van Straaten says the meeting will be an important one for his riders following extensive track work over the winter.

“We’ve had a lot of work done, particularly with the drainage side of things due to the ever-changing climate,” he said.

“So the opening individual event will be a pressure free meeting for the team and will give them a chance to get some competitive laps under their belt which I feel will be more vital than ever ahead of our first team fixture against Sheffield (Monday, April 6, 7.30).

“We’d like to thank our stadium landlords Ladbrokes for supporting our opening fixture and it should be a good way to start the season.”

Wolves’ Press and Practice takes place at Monmore Green on Monday, March 23.

Riders and management will talk to the media in the upstairs restaurant from 5.30 before heading down trackside to spin their first laps of the year from 7pm.

The following evening (Tuesday, March 24), the club will hold their annual Pre-Season Talk-In with riders and management at the Cleveland Arms Sports Pub from 7.30.
