AMERICAN ACE BECKER IS BACK

Tuesday December 24, 2019
POPULAR American racer Luke Becker has agreed his return to Wolverhampton for a second successive season.

It’s a perfectly timed present for Parrys International Wolves fans this festive season and it means the club now have the two highest rated riders from across the pond with Broc Nicol already signed.

The American Champion enjoyed an impressive debut in the British Premiership and became an instant hit with the Monmore Green faithful.

And team manager Peter Adams says bringing the 20-year-old back for a second straight season was a no-brainer.

“Luke had a very good first season and it was definitely a lot better than I expected,” Adams said.

“We didn’t quite know what to expect to be honest with you because coming over here for the first time is never easy and it was a big step for him.

“But when you look at the year overall, he had a very solid season and he certainly scored some very important points for us at Wolverhampton whether that be in the top five or down at reserve.

“There’s still a long way to go for Luke though; there are certainly a few specific areas we want to work on next year and a few little creases which we would both like to iron out.

“But getting him back to Wolverhampton was always our aim and it will be interesting to see how he progresses at a place he already knows well next season.”

It means the Parrys International Wolves now just have on team spot to fill with Jacob Thorssell, Rory Schlein, Nick Morris, Ryan Douglas and Broc Nicol on board.

“We’re more than happy with the way we’re looking so far,” Adams said.

“Rory has been a terrific captain both on and off the track these past few years and we’re delighted to have him back at Wolverhampton in what will be his final season in British Speedway.

“Ryan is only going to improve I feel and being able to start the season in the Premiership rather than coming in part way through should be an advantage to him and us.

“Nick is desperate to remind everyone what he really is capable of, in Broc we’ve got a talented, young rider who we’re looking forward to watching progress and we all know how Jacob can perform too.”
