WOLVES HEAD TO BIRMINGHAM ON WEDNESDAY

Tuesday April 02, 2019
WOLVERHAMPTON head to neighbours Birmingham on Wednesday for their first competitive action of the season (7.30).

Parrys International Wolves take on the Championship newcomers at Perry Barr in Brummies co-owner David Mason’s Magic Farewell event.

Wolves Promoter Chris Van Straaten said: “We’re delighted to be a part of David’s meeting.

“He is someone who has been a mainstay of lower league racing and he’s been an excellent servant at that level.

“It’s an ideal opportunity for our riders to get some competitive laps under their belt and they’re all looking forward to it.”

Seven-times British Champion Scott Nicholls and American Champ Luke Becker make their debuts for Wolves while Ashley Morris will ride for his parent club in the old, gold and black despite signing for Birmingham over the winter.

Fans’ favourite Nathan Greaves will deputise at reserve while rider replacement will operate for Nick Morris who is resting a knock to his wrist ahead of Monday’s Premiership Supporters’ Cup opener at Monmore Green against Peterborough.

Birmingham have booked Great Britain international Steve Worrall to guest at No.1 while they also include former Premier League Riders’ Champion Ulrich Ostergaard and former British Under-19 Champion Zach Wajtknecht.

Admission is £16.50 Adults, £14 Concessions/Students, £5 Juniors (12-16) while Under-11s go FREE.

Supporters should note that the point of entry for the 2019 season is now via the official turnstiles on the main Aldridge Road.

There will also be an official souvenir, limited edition raceday programme available for £3.50.
